The Leavitt Institute for International Development is an organization of legal professionals dedicated to advancing knowledge of adversarial proceedings as a critical mechanism to ensure democratic freedoms and personal liberties.

 

 

The Leavitt Institute has been very fortunate to have combined with some of the brightest international relations specialists and legal minds throughout the United States.

 

TLI teachers are experienced judges, prosecutors, criminal defense attorneys and legal counsels from the United States. Among them are members of TLI Board as well as Steven Swift, Daniel Bay Gibbons, Sandra McLean, Brent Gurney,Trish Cassell, Samuel McVey and others.

 

They use Socratic method of teaching where students study the materials of a prospective lecture at home. Then the topic is discussed in class with a Professor and the other students.

 

Students are encouraged to offer their arguments as well as counterarguments.
