Darian Hackney
Darian Hackney is currently a student at Utah Valley University (UVU). She is studying Political Science and would like to earn a Russian Studies Minor. She graduated from high school in 2014 and is 20 years old. After she completes her four-year program at UVU, she would like to go to law school. She enjoys hiking, swimming, camping, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys discussing government and politics, traveling, and meeting new people.




Elisabeth Moffat
Elisabeth Moffat graduated from Lone Peak High School (Highland, UT) in May of 2015. She currently attends Utah Valley University (Orem, UT) and studies Chemistry and Engineering. She has been certified as a Nursing Assistant (as of July 2015) and holds a position in a care facility. She is trained as a classical and jazz pianist, spending 11 years with professional instructors and performing in musical conferences and festivals throughout the United States. She enjoys teaching both jazz and classical music techniques to students, and currently tutors three children in English and mathematics. When she is not working as a nursing assistant or attending school, her interests include painting, reading, and hiking. She currently resides in Alpine, UT.



Joshua Wilson
Joshua Wilson is 25 years old and in his third year at Utah Valley University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He wants to work in medicine and has set his sights on attending medical school to become an M.D. He is most interested in emergency medicine, and in 2014 was licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician. He currently works as a customer service representative for Alliance Health, a network of diabetic pharmacies helping people manage their diabetes. In his down time, Joshua enjoys playing guitar, shooting my AR-15, and going on hikes with his wife Cynthia and their King Charles spaniel named Charlie.




Kyle grew up in Orange County, California and is the baby in the family, the youngest of four brothers. He currently attends Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he is working on obtaining his Master in Public Administration degree. He enjoys hiking, surfing, soccer, learning new cultures, and watching his favorite movies, The Lord of the Rings. Kyle wants to work in the field of international development and hopes to accomplish this through obtaining a law degree at BYU. He also has some experience with teaching English, which he did part time for two years as a missionary for his church in Sao Paulo, Brazil.




Ryan Belliston
Ryan Belliston is the second oldest of seven kids in his family. He is currently a senior in college studying political science / international relations at Utah Valley University. His career goal is to become a consular services worker over passports and immigration for the U.S. State Department. In addition to his studies, he has participated in volunteer activities that promoted better relations between different cultures and people. Two of these services included, 1) volunteering in protocol for the United Nations sponsored international conference: Women of the Mountains, which was held in Utah on October 7th2015. The second involved Ryan being a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in North Carolina from August 2011 to August 2013. There he taught the Hispanic population about God, the English language, and how to become U.S. citizens. Ryan has also worked as a legal intern for two different law firms, helping with legal research and case preparation.


Travis Knight
Travis is currently a freshman at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.  He graduated from Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, Colorado and has lived in Utah since August of 2015.  He is studying Criminal Justice, in combination with foreign languages, German and Russian.  He is finishing his first semester in Russian class and his fifth year in German.  He was an exchange student in Germany for a short period of time in 2013.  Travis also loves to travel and has been to many northern European countries, including Russia.  He is extremely excited to work with students on their English skills as well as getting to visit Moldova and learn about the history of the country.
